1. Starfish Ball
Support the Mardi Gras-themed Nsoro Foundation ball on Sat., Jan. 23. This year’s event will honor Vicki Palmer and Joel Katz, and proceeds will provide educational scholarships and programs for youth in foster care. The St. Regis Atlanta, Buckhead

2. Atlanta Jewish Film Festival
The 16th annual Atlanta Jewish Film Festival will run for 23 nights from Jan. 26 through Feb. 17, showcasing the finest in international and independent cinema dealing with themes of Jewish culture, identity and history. Locations vary 

3. Disgraced
Taking the stage from Jan. 27 through Feb. 14, this 2013 Pulitzer Prize winner for drama tells the story of Amir, a successful lawyer moving up the corporate ladder while trying to distance himself from his Muslim roots. The Alliance Theatre, Midtown

4. Beauty and the Beast
The smash-hit Broadway musical adaptation of the Disney classic invites audiences to be its guest Feb. 2 through 7 with unforgettable characters, lavish stage production and, of course, dazzling songs from the film. The Fox Theatre, Midtown

5. Moulin Rouge – The Ballet
Witness the most famous cabaret in history when the Atlanta Ballet performs this Parisian story of love and stardom Feb. 5 through 13. Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, Smyrna
