Aba and the Dalcy played host to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago (BGCC) Woman’s Board 76th Annual Summer Ball, starting with Aba’s signature Mediterranean “mezze feast” followed by cookies from Beatrix and chocolates from Harry Winston, Inc. Guests enjoyed music from the Arlen Music Jazz Quartess followed by a lively afterparty with tunes from DJ Fred Matters.
More than 300 attendees gathered for the organization’s annual celebration of impact, organized by Summer Ball co-chairs Kate Melman and Kelly Rosen Lagrange, along with Woman’s Board president Karen McEniry. Giuliana and Bill Rancic served as auctioneers for the event’s live auction, and touching words were delivered by four-year member Antonella, who shared how the Club’s support and scholarships helped shape her academic, athletic and leadership success.
Raising $2.1 million, the Summer Ball was one of the organization’s most successful events. An auction offered luxury prizes, including a private dinner for 20 by chef Evan Funke at Tre Dita and a trip to Singita, a private game reserve in Kruger National Park. Proceeds from the event directly support the BGCC’s goal of helping Chicago’s youth achieve success.
