Set on disrupting the real estate industry for the better, Compass Real Estate’s Breitenbach Advisory Team (BAT) has rolled out the BAT Disrupt video series, which strives to cultivate a community and promote collaboration.
“In the post-COVID world, people are yearning for relationships, culture and connection with other people,” says Compass Real Estate broker Matt Breitenbach. “The BAT Disrupt series puts together a panel of the best realtors in the country to talk about what they do, how they do it and how we can continue to do things better,” Breitenbach says.

The high-caliber team formed the series with hopes of starting engaging conversations on how to improve and grow within the industry. It is the group’s mission to replace traditional methodologies with new strategies that uphold integrity and promote transparency throughout every step of each real estate transaction.
“The BAT Disrupt series is about three things, the first being community and collaboration. The second is about making things better by constantly asking ourselves: How do we improve and do things better? The third is about listening, learning and growing,” says Breitenbach.

When listing and selling properties, team members Breitenbach, Dominic Couzens, Robbie Banker, Amber Roberts, Kevin Geddie, Greg Gould and Josh Abraham use their vast areas of expertise to benefit their premier clientele. The team’s collaborative approach has fueled the series’ mission to spread the knowledge of industry leaders across the country.
“The most rewarding part of working in real estate is the people, the relationships that we form and the opportunities we get to meet people, whether they are clients or other industry professionals. I have always wanted to help people. I always tell our team members, instead of simply selling to a client, ask them meaningful questions that can help you find the best fit for their unique needs,” says Breitenbach.
Most recently, the group was responsible for the sale of 180 Pointe Mecox Lane in Bridgehampton, a five-bedroom, six-bathroom estate with more than 6,000 square feet of living space. Designed by BMA Architects, the new-construction waterfront home sold in 2023 for a record-breaking $24 million.
The team holds countless highly successful transactions and more than $3 billion in combined sales under their belt, garnered through their honesty, unwavering work ethic, precise attention to detail and teamwork-centered mission. Since its foundation, the group has ranked as the No. 1 Hamptons team in 2021 and has led historic, record-breaking sales, all while forging a path to new methods of conducting business.
“The BAT Disrupt series reflects this immense desire to cultivate and implement positive change. I’ve always had the desire to innovate, adjust and improve the traditional routes and the usual way of doing things,” Breitenbach says.

Just this summer, real estate professionals flocked from across the country to attend the series’ first live episode event.
“We recently hosted our first live episode of the series where guests were able to see how we film it. The whole process was organic and we had people there who had traveled from Texas, California and all across the country. It is amazing what digital advancements can do; it just goes to show the power of collaboration,” says Breitenbach.
