Bridal Sign Up

Suzy Bezikian & Harout Garabedian

May 31, 2014 | Ceremony: St. Garabed Armenian Church | Reception: Taglyan Complex

The bride donned a blush pink Monique Lhuillier gown, while the groom wore a Vera Wang tuxedo.

The Couple
When a mutual friend gave a pair of Metallica tickets to two unacquainted friends, it was fate. Suzy Bezikian, an attorney, and Harout Garabedian, an investment consultant, were a perfect match—but they were in no rush to the altar. After 10 blissful years together, Harout surprised Suzy with a proposal.

The Party
“I didn’t really have a focused vision,” Suzy says of the lavish reception that followed the couple’s traditional church ceremony. “What resulted was a very romantic theme,” she adds. The couple considered the 300-person guest list “intimate for an Armenian wedding.” Beginning with a Champagne cocktail hour, the black-tie affair swirled with a white-and-blush color palette. It was the perfect setting to enjoy a family-style feast of filet mignon, salmon and a selection of 20 small Mediterranean plates. The celebration of love culminated when the newlyweds met on the dance floor for their first dance to Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together.”

What They Learned
When Suzy finally found her dream Monique Lhuillier dress only two weeks before the wedding, she learned to stay calm and remember that everything will work out. “Things go wrong but miracles happen,” she says.

The Honeymoon
“We wanted both culture and relaxation,” says the bride of their romantic honeymoon in the Greek Islands, where the twosome escaped for 14 days.
