Bridal Sign Up

Kate Huff & Drew Derrico

September 10, 2011 | Aquaviva Winery

Happy couple Kate and Drew met on a free, three-day trial on! The bride chose a textural San Patrick gown for her wedding look.

Empty wine bottles were hung above the flavored water station, each one stuffed with baby’s breath, faux flowers or feathers.

Whimsical touches, like this hand-painted sign directing guests to the festivities, peppered the Maple Park winery.

To create a “shabby chic” setting, the bride worked with Shambora Studios—an event decorator she met at the Kane County Flea Market.

WHY WE LOVE IT Aside from being an especially handsome couple, it’s obvious Kate and Drew have exquisite taste, too—and that they planned their celebration from the heart. Honeybee Weddings helped with the details (think a flavored water station and a cigar patio).

THE VENUE The pair chose Aquaviva Winery in Maple Park for its charming grounds. “The owner allowed us to get married on his private estate across the street—sold!,” says Kate.

THE DETAILS In lieu of a traditional first dance, Kate and Drew kicked things off on the dance floor with a flash mob medley.
