A peek inside the new Vera Wang boutique.

Upon unveiling a lipstick-red wedding gown collection, designer Vera Wang had another surprise in store—her first boutique in Texas. Tucked into Casa de Novia Bridal Couture, the new “shop-in-shop” is glassed in and showcases nothing but Vera. “It’s just like walking into Vera Wang in New York, except smaller,” says biz-savvy owner Luvi Wheelock, 32, who opened her shop in 2004. She transformed the 500-square-foot space so it feels like a separate store, with charcoal walls and floors in cool contrast to Casa de Novia’s creamy décor. The space also has its own dressing rooms. While other salons may carry four to six Wang gowns, Wheelock will hand pick 10 to 12 styles every season. “Fashion is in my blood, and I do what I love the most,” says the chic mother of two. “Just like an interior decorator sees paint colors and where to place furniture, I envision what looks best on a girl and how to spice it up some!”
