Bridal Sign Up

Julie Wiesman & Joseph Berklund

January 3, 2015 | Ceremony & Reception: Westin Colonnade

Joe wore an Aramni tuxedo, and Julie wore an ivory Ines Di Santo ballgown and a two-tiered veil dusted with Swarovski crystals.

The bride carried a beautiful bouquet with ivory roses.

Joe designed Julie’s radiant cut diamond halo ring, and he wore an antique gold heirloom ring passed down from his great-grandfather.

The bridesmaids chose their own dress styles in a matching color scheme consisting of champagne, gold and rose gold.

Together with her wedding planner, Marylen Exposito, Julie designed tablescapes featuring levels of glass mirrors, gold candelabras and towering centerpieces of roses and orchids from florist Blooms Events.

For celebrity fitness trainer Julie Wiesman and attorney Joseph Berklund, sparks flew the moment they laid eyes on one another in Mary Brickell Village. After realizing that he would love nothing more than to spend the rest of his life with the blond bombshell, a former Miami Heat dancer, Joe surprised Julie with a rooftop proposal at the Miami Tower building in downtown. Julie couldn’t wait to begin planning the fairy-tale wedding that she’d dreamed about since she was a child.

The entire ceremony was perfectly choreographed from beginning to end, starting with the bride and her father descending a grand staircase at the historic Westin Colonnade. The theme for the rest of the evening revolved around a romantic color palette with hues of ivory, rose gold and champagne, as well as lots of sparkle. A huge hit with the guests, Edda’s Cake Designs constructed a chandelier-inspired upside-down cake with five delicious tiers of vanilla rum, guava fill and chocolate decadence. The crowd also went wild over canons shooting celebratory confetti, filling the room with glitter as guests danced the night away to a 10-piece band named Heatwave.

“Remember to stop, step back and really take in as many moments as possible throughout the entire event because it all goes by so fast,” says Julie.

Julie and Joe jetted off to Mozart’s hometown in Vienna, then spent a week touring Abu Dhabi, including embarking on a privately chauffeured desert safari. They ended the trip of a lifetime at the W Hotel in London.
