The cozy oasis soft-opened back in August but is now fully open to guests seven days a week. The 18-room boutique property features a cocktail bar, lounge and gorgeous renovations by San Francisco design firm Field Theory in the 1890s estate.
Dear Remembered World
Each of the 18 rooms is unique, with all newly renovated and expertly curated. A blend of original 1890s woodwork and minimalist modern art and furnishings adorn the space. Field Theory collaborated with The Lost Boys Hospitality Group to bring the hotel to life, and the results are beautifully rustic yet understated rooms that soothe the senses. Complimentary continental breakfast, Brooklinen sheets, Wright mattresses and Partners coffee and tea are just a few of the amenities guests can look forward to. The wood-paneled library is outfitted with gorgeous hand-picked Victorian antiques, stunning stained-glass windows, vintage statement pieces and literary gems such as the first edition of the memoir , which was written by the daughter of the estate’s original owners. The artist-in-residence program showcases rotating works from local makers, ensuring the property honors its local ties and history.
The on-property full-service cocktail bar and lounge offer elevated plates and libations, with both the food and beverage programs teeming with locally-sourced ingredients, highlighting Catskills brewers and regional purveyors. Beloved Manhattan restauranteur Natalie Freihon of Nat’s on Bank, Nat’s On Bleecker and The Orchard Townhouse will also be opening Nat’s Mountain House on-property come spring. There are plenty of onsite activities, ranging from billiards, board games, an indoor wood-burning stove, an outdoor fire pit, a live DJ every other Saturday night and a pool in the warmer months.
Perhaps the best amenity of all? Hotel Lilien’s location. The property is situated just four minutes from Hunter Mountain’s ski slopes, hiking trails and summer zip-line, making it the perfect destination for all four seasons. Craving a good hike? Kaaterskill Falls lies just eight minutes away, and the 178-acre Mountain Top Arboretum is only six minutes from the hotel. The hotel’s full-service gear bar provides all you could need to tackle the outdoors, including snow shoes, hiking boots, sleds for local hills and more. So what are you waiting for? The great outdoors awaits.
