Do you love sourdough bread baking and want to advance your results? Would you like to connect with other home bakers and share your passion for the craft? The Chicago Bread Club introduces a hands-on sourdough bread baking class led by sourdough bread authority, Kristen Dennis of Full Proof Baking and head Baker at Free Rein, Dan Koester.
The class will provide the experience of crafting a sourdough loaf in a mere afternoon, a process that usually takes 24-48 hours. Kristen and Dan will prepare the necessary materials in order for you to see and try out each step of the process, and you will leave with a better understanding of sourdough as well as with a couple loaves of bread to eat at home! The class will feature discussion of all steps of the sourdough baking process, including sourdough culture maintenance and levain preparation, autolysing and bulk fermentation, dough handling and shaping, as well as the final proof and how to bake in a home oven. There will be plenty of time for questions.
