The seventh annual Dîner en Blanc Chicago brought together guests from across the city for an evening of top-secret exclusive fun.
THE PARTY From across the city, nearly 4,000 guests of the annual Dîner en Blanc converged on Siegel Field at the Illinois Institute of Technology, a location kept secret until the commencement of the event. Now in its seventh year, Dîner en Blanc Chicago had 10,000 people on its waiting list. Those who did attend wore elaborate all-white ensembles while enjoying a picnic dinner and beverages from sponsor Louis Glunz Wines. THE PEOPLE Dîner en Blanc participants Blaine Washington and Matthew Lawson turned the evening into the ultimate party by staging their wedding in front of the sparkler-waving crowd.
THE PINNACLE In front of the Mies van der Rohe-designed S. R. Crown Hall, jazz orchestra Big Band Boom had revelers on their feet until late in the evening. Dîner en Blanc hosts worked with the dean of IIT’s School of Architecture, Michelangelo Sabatino, to install a lighting activation that represented the event’s French origins and Chicago legacy, which will remain at Siegel Field until the end of the year. -Jaclyn Jermyn
