Animal lovers united to support PAWS Chicago’s mission at this year’s Animal Magnetism.
THE PARTY As their well-dressed pooches hit the canine buffet, nearly 600 supporters of PAWS Chicago spent the evening celebrating the no-kill animal shelter’s efforts on behalf of homeless pets. The lively scene at Morgan Manufacturing featured dinner, dancing and a covetable silent auction. THE PEOPLE FOX 32’s Jake Hamilton and Brittney Payton emceed the evening, and PAWS co-founder Alexis Fasseas honored five individuals (Anna Morrison-Ricordati, Anita Mauro, Gillian Lindsay, Clifford Perry and Aaron Charfoos) whose donations of their time and legal services have helped local homeless pets. THE PINNACLE The night raised nearly $190,000 that will benefit adoptable cats and dogs, like Celia, a cat who was saved by the team at PAWS Chicago’s Medical Center after she suffered life-threatening injuries when she climbed in the engine of a pickup truck, and Adam, a two-month-old puppy who recovered from the dangerous parvovirus. -Sarah Ryan
