CS celebrated the July/August Feast Issue with the debut of its new Savor At Sunset event, which honored the city’s most distinguished chefs and restaurateurs featured within the issue who continue to shape and evolve Chicago’s culinary scene. The 2018 winners were Pacific Standard Time for Best New Restaurant, Marisol for Restaurant of the Year, and Stephen Gillanders of S.K.Y. for Chef on the Rise.
The three winning restaurants were gifted with a special bottle of Gloria Ferrer sparkling wine. Guests arrived at the newly renovated Theater on the Lake for an experience of a lifetime. Delightful sparkling wine from Gloria Ferrer served out of a mobile camper bar and lounge designed by Northern Decor; refreshing beer and cocktails by Blue Moon Brewing Company and the latest from Crispin Cider Company, Crispin Rosé Hard Cider, along with samplings of Kevita, and cocktails by Mammoth Distilling.
Tastemakers reveled in the adult summer camp vibes, emphasized in the decor by Platinum Events, a branded s’mores station creatively designed by Food For Thought to celebrate the two Karma Revero vehicles on site, lively entertainment from Dope Katz featuring MonAeri, Russoul featuring Ari and DJ Mystro and a special acoustic performance by Ikaika. A lounge by Tablescapes was the perfect backdrop for The Girl Scouts to support their local initiatives and upcoming fundraiser event. Becker Works, Ltd. created custom communal tables for guests to enjoy tasting the participating restaurants’ dishes on, while Alexa Photo Booth provided the perfect photo opportunity for guests to share their experience on their social outlets.
Participating restaurants included Baptiste & Bottle, Beacon Tavern, Beatnik, BLVD, Boleo, Daisies, El Che, etta, Gene & Georgetti, HaiSous, Katana, Margeaux Brasserie, Pacific Standard Time, The Duck Inn, Torali Italian-Steak and Travelle Kitchen + Bar.
