Celebrating 150 years of connecting Chicagoans to nature, the Lincoln Park Zoo’s annual Zoo Ball made party animals out of more than 800 guests.
THE PARTY Lincoln Park Zoo received a roaring salute for its 150th anniversary at the annual Zoo Ball. Themed Zoobilee, the evening was full of special moments. Jewell Events Catering delighted guests with delicious seasonal dishes, and the silent auction offered coveted experiences like a ski trip to Breckenridge, Colo., and a Lake Michigan sailboat excursion. THE PEOPLE Partygoers who are wild about the zoo packed the venue, including philanthropists Mamie and Greg Case. Women’s Board President Caroline Huebner charmed guests with her special remarks, followed by a video message from Mayor Rahm Emanuel, who congratulated the zoo on its major milestone and its contributions to the city.THE PINNACLE The ball concluded on a high note as the Ken Arlen Evolution Orchestra had everyone dancing the night away and toasting the more than $1.2 million the event helped raise. -Sarah Foster
