Celebrated female choreographers showcase new work with Hubbard Street Dance Chicago.
Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, says Artistic Director Glenn Edgerton, has two main missions: “to bring the best choreography from the world’s stages to... Chicago and to foster the creative talents of the artists within our building.” The company’s Season 38 Winter Series is delivering both in spades through the works of prominent international female choreographers. Among other works, the series will offer the premiere of Solo Echo by Crystal Pite, a Canadian star. Then the company’s younger talent, Hubbard Street 2, joins in for the world premiere of A Glimpse Inside a Shared Story by this year’s artist in the International Commissioning Project, the Chinese phenom Yin Yue. All the works tell stories of acceptance, self-reckoning and desire—another mission accomplished! Dec. 10-13, times vary, VIP tickets $250, 205 E. Randolph St., 312.850.9744
