Nestled high above the glitz of Los Angeles, where the city’s hum fades into the soft rustle of hillside oaks, British actress Chloe Farnsworth found her sanctuary. Known for her role in A24’s Maxxine, Chloe had just closed on a hidden gem in the Hollywood Hills, a property she snagged for under $900,000. What followed was a complete transformation, one that turned a charming but dated residence into a soulful, light-filled retreat, with the refined design collaboration of Residence Supply.
A Hollywood Hideaway with Heart
The moment Chloe stepped onto the property, she felt something magical. The home was modest in size but rich in potential, brimming with historic charm, and, most importantly, those classic panoramic views that only the Hills can offer. It whispered stories of old Hollywood while inviting something fresh and intentional.
But Chloe’s dream wasn’t just to renovate, it was to reimagine. “I didn’t want a typical L.A. home. I wanted a grown-up tree house,” she explains. A personal haven that lived and breathed nature, elevated comfort, and quiet creativity.
A Vision Rooted in Nature
With her vision crystal-clear, Chloe partnered with Residence Supply to bring the idea to life. The brand, known for their tactile craftsmanship and mindful design sensibility, immediately aligned with Chloe’s direction: natural textures, open spaces, and intuitive luxury.
They began by radically opening up the front of the home. The original front window, a small aperture that once dulled the view was replaced with a sweeping expanse of glass. The entire façade became a living frame for the Hills beyond, pulling in golden light and allowing the outside to spill indoors.
A new room was added, expanding the home's footprint to better reflect Chloe’s evolving lifestyle. Meanwhile, the deck was doubled in size and anchored by an outdoor hot tub, a luxurious yet grounding feature that made morning meditation and late-night stargazing equally sacred.

The Power of Custom Craftsmanship
At the core of this transformation was intention. Residence Supply leaned into their signature blend of function and artistry, curating finishes that told a quiet story of elegance.
Brass dimmers, switches, and outlets were custom-designed for the home, acting as subtle pieces of jewelry on the walls, small but impactful touches that elevated every interaction. Lighting was equally considered: alabaster and travertine pendant lights were suspended like sculptural art pieces, casting soft, atmospheric glows at every hour.
“It’s those details that make it feel alive,” Chloe says. “When the light hits the alabaster just right, it almost looks like it’s breathing.”
A Home That Breathes With You
More than a renovation, Chloe’s Hollywood Hills retreat became an act of storytelling. The palette of soft creams and natural woods allows every space to flow into the next. Nothing is loud; everything is layered. It’s a space that evolves with the sun — bright and airy by day, cozy and cocooned by night.
This home isn’t about perfection. It’s about presence. And that’s exactly what makes it beautiful.
