The sale of Cliff Beach is now part of Nantucket Land Bank’s plan for more accessible beaches.

On Nov. 13, a $26 million property sale made some big waves for the island. Nestled along the coveted shores of Nantucket, 41 Jefferson Ave., known as Cliff Beach, served as a private paradise for the Huffman family for over 60 years. Now, the pristine stretch of sand will transition to a public beach. The Nantucket Land Bank purchased the nearly one-acre property in a deal brokered by Compass agent Allison Mazer. The current plans for the beach include creating an ADA-accessible destination and relocating the 7,200-square-foot residence to help meet Nantucket’s year-round housing needs. The deal will ensure Cliff Beach becomes a public treasure for all, preserving its beauty for future generations.
