The Dallas Museum of Art raised more than $1.3 million at the 52nd annual Art Ball.
THE PARTY The 2017 Art Ball at the Dallas Museum of Art, chaired by Ann and Lee Hobson, was one of the most successful evenings in the event’s 52-year history, raising more than $1.3 million in net revenue to support the museum’s mission of engaging and educating the community through art. THE GUESTS The who’s who of the Dallas social scene donned their best duds to enjoy the Parisian-themed evening, including Eugene McDermott, Director Agustín Arteaga, Catherine Marcus Rose, Melissa Foster Fetter, Academy Award-winning actress Anne Hathaway, Jessica and Dirk Nowitzki, dinner sponsor Nancy Rogers, Peggy and Carl Sewell, Deedie Rose, Mary McDermott and Marguerite Hoffman. THE HIGHLIGHTS The live auction, curated by Rajan Patel and Merry Vose, was the highest grossing live auction in Art Ball history, partially in thanks to the Hobsons, whose French country estate was sold by Christie’s auctioneer Brook Hazelton not once, but twice. Cheers to an impressive year! -Nadia Dabbakeh
