An annual stylish affair, The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary 2018 Fashion Show and Luncheon was held at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center.
THE PARTY A throng of women dedicated to charity arrived in fashionable threads for The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary Fashion Show and Luncheon presented by Anne Davidson. Chaired by Lisa Singleton and honorary chair Michal Powell, the event drew in nearly 600 attendees, raising $710,000 to fund youth programs throughout the metroplex. Women’s Auxiliary President Betsy Willis presented Jan Pickens with the 2018 Margot Perot Service Award before Margot Perot honored her dear friend, the late Ruth Altshuler, for her longstanding support of The Salvation Army. THE GUESTS Luncheongoers included Annette Simmons, Cami Goff, Heather Randall and Charlotte Jones Anderson—women known for doing good, and looking good doing it, including former first lady Laura Bush. THE HIGHLIGHTS Guests shopped the chic boutique stocked with fashions from Forty Five Ten, Neiman Marcus and Tootsies before bidding on silent auction items such as pieces from Sue Gragg Precious Jewels, and Chanel and Valentino handbags donated by Tina Craig. Next up came the fashion show only Jan Strimple could whip up, featuring the best designer finds from Dallas’ most fashionable closets. Last season’s threads never looked so good! -Krystal Sarna
