Empty Bowl Hawaii 2017 to benefit Aloha Harvest

5:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Over 3,000 bowls in the making for Empty Bowl Hawaii 2017
to benefit Aloha Harvest

On March 31st, 2017, Empty Bowl Hawaii will gather an expected crowd of 2,000 including over twenty of Hawaii’s top chefs, to celebrate Hawaii Potters Guild’s 50th Anniversary and raise funds for Aloha Harvest. This biannual fundraiser began in 2009 under the leadership of Hawaii Potters Guild as part of an international effort to address hunger. The 2017 event will be held for the first time at Pomaikai Ballrooms at Dole Cannery from 5:00-8:30pm.
After two years of preparation from the clay community; including community organizations, more than twenty schools, and hundreds of members of Hawaii Potters’ Guild, over 3,000 bowls are expected to be given away at the event. That equals over 4,500 pounds of reused clay.
All proceeds from Empty Bowl Hawaii will benefit Aloha Harvest. Aloha Harvest is a non-profit organization that rescues quality, donated food and delivers it “free of charge” to social service agencies feeding the hungry in Hawai‘i.
Tickets as well as updates on confirmed chefs, entertainers and sponsor opportunities will be available at beginning October 15, 2016.
