Sun Noodle will be hosting the first noodle festival in Hawaii at Ward Village on Saturday, March 24 from 3-9 PM. A dozen different restaurant booths will show off their culinary talents by showcasing noodle dishes from Japan, China, Italy, and all over the world. Activities at the noodle festival include: the “Ramen Walk” featuring various local ramen restaurants, celebrity chef cooking demonstration, spicy noodle challenge, udon speed-eating competition, and live music from local artists.
The highlight of the event will be saimin, a unique noodle dish that blends Chinese, Japanese, and Filipino dishes together. Saimin is rooted in Hawaii’s plantation history. Hidehito Uki, the founder and CEO of Sun Noodle, said, “Saimin is a dish we should take special pride in because it represents what’s unique about Hawaii--our ‘melting pot’ culture.
Noodle Fest Hawaii is presented by Sun Noodle. It is organized by the Howard Hughes Corporation, the Hawaii Jaycees, VH07V | Revolution and AT Marketing.
