Pastel hues of a magnificent Hawai`i Island sunset were the backdrop for ManoaDNA’s performance as a part of the Kahilu Theatre’s Gold Concert Series, whose proceeds benefit the theater’s arts education programs for local Kamuela youth.
THE PARTY Family band and Japan sensation ManoaDNA presented a fusion of Hawaiian sounds and modern melodies poolside at the Kauna`oa Residences, a private estate at Mauna Kea Resort. Concertgoers gathered in support of Arts Ed @ Kahilu, which allows children to explore their passions through performances, classes and partnerships with local schools. THE SCENE The philanthropic crowd of notables included Kahilu Theatre Executive Director Deborah Goodwin, luxury real estate broker Beth Thoma Robinson, and event sponsors Eric Schwartz and Magda Wesslund. THE HIGHLIGHTS In keeping with the true spirit of the series, two Arts Ed @ Kahilu vocalists kicked off the intimate affair and wowed with their angelic voices. The sweet sounds of ukulele and guitar, titillating hors d’oeuvre selections and a breathtaking ocean view made for a memorable night of music.
