Body 1: 

Foodies will squeal with delight over the pork-tastic selections at the annual Cochon555 U.S. Tour at Hughes Manor (2811 Washington Ave., 713.864.2797) May 21. The Houston edition features 5 local chefs cooking 5 whole, heritage breed pigs using innovative techniques. The winner from each city is crowned “Prince or Princess of Porc” and moves on to the national Grand Cochon competition. The big Food & Wine Week in The Woodlands takes place June 5-11 this year. Guests can choose from a broad selection of offerings designed for the novice to the serious enthusiast for both culinary and wine. SaltAir Seafood Kitchen (3029 Kirby Dr., 713.521.3333) is kicking off its annual 5-week “23 degrees Chefs Series,” starting May 30. Guests will go on a culinary dinner adventure with chef Brandi Key’s rotating, weekly menus highlighting indigenous ingredients and cultural preparations used in Baja, Hawaiian, Cantonese, Gujarti, and Cuban cuisine. saltairhouston.com

Rosé lovers should mark their calendars for Underbelly’s (1100 Westheimer Rd., 713.528.9800) “Respect the Rosé,” Caddyshack-style July 23 at 6:30pm. May 16, Clark Cooper Concepts’ Brasserie 19 and The Dunlavy team up with MFAH’s Rienzi (1406 Kirby Dr.) for “Widows and Winemakers: A Culinary Experience featuring The Women of Champagne.” Prepare for an evening of progressive French cuisine from chef Brandi Key and champagne pairings by Wendi Lambert of SaltAir.
