“I love Houston, this is my home, it’s where I live, it’s where my children were born,” says Matt Brice Executive Chef and co-owner of The Federal American Grill. The Massachusetts native has been in the restaurant business since he was 17. After graduating college and managing Ruth’s Chris restaurant in NYC he moved to Houston, managed a local restaurant before opening his first restaurant, Bistro des Amis in Rice Village. Matt Brice has taken his steakhouse experience and combined it with his French experience and has created the Federal Grill.

This award-winning restaurant has instantly become a Houston favorite. “Dress up or dress down, come in and enjoy a bourbon or beer, a rib eye or a burger, throw in a little Sinatra and you will begin to have a taste of the Federal experience,” says Brice. The Federal Grill boasts one of the largest collections of whiskey with over 400 samples to choose from. In addition to the amazing steaks and creative seafood entrees they have also introduced light summer fare dishes. It’s classic food with genuine service. Open 7 days for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch, The Federal Grill offers a variety of dishes from classic to eclectic. Some of the highlights are the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake served over lobster sauce (best in town!), Fried Cheeseburger Eggrolls, Truffle Stuffed Chicken with herbal cream cheese filling, Chilean Sea Bass served with crab over creamed spinach, Lamb Shank with red wine mint demi glace and Smoked Pork Chop with braised local greens.
