Supporters of the American Cancer Society gave cancer the boot, raising major funds at this year’s Cattle Baron’s Ball.
THE PARTY More than 1,300 revelers put on their cowboy boots and hats and headed to George Ranch Historical Park for this year’s Cattle Baron’s Ball, chaired by Susan Ryan and Jerré Williams and honoring Becky and Kelly Joy. THE SCENE Pig races, casino games and a large selection of various Southern bites from Pappas Catering kept the crowd entertained and jovial before the fundraising started. In addition to silent bidding, attendees also got the chance to get competitive during Mike Jones’ fast-paced live auction. Afterward, country singer Bri Bagwell took center stage for a concert that had partygoers on their feet. THE HIGHLIGHTS Country legend Trace Adkins donated his guitar and cowboy hat for the cause, and several lucky bidders snagged unique experiences such as a private dinner with Johnny Carrabba, an African safari and an NFL Texans VIP superfan getaway. In total, the hoedown brought in more than $2 million! -Mellanie Perez
