The Cattle Baron’s Ball celebrated 30 years of big cowboy hats and even bigger fundraising.
THE PARTY Cindi Colvin, Denise Leisten and Tammy Norman chaired this year’s Cattle Baron’s Ball at George Ranch Historical Park in Richmond. The event, celebrating 30 years, raised more than $2.2 million for the American Cancer Society.
THE SCENE More than 1,875 guests boot scooted down Highway 59 for the party, which featured performances by Holly Williams and the legendary Dwight Yoakam. Hugo’s catered Mexican dishes like chile relleno, tamales and enchiladas, while Tony’s served up prime beef chili, crispy oyster tostadas and stuffed avocados. In addition to the large dinner spread and knockout concert, partygoers also had the chance to test their luck with Vegas-style casino games and cheer on a live pig race.
THE HIGHLIGHTS The night’s auction included several big-ticket items, including a 300-bottle wine pull and jewelry pull by Kendra Scott. One lucky raffle winner even got to drive off in a brand-new BMW 320i. Yeehaw! -Ray Dennison
