Diptyque, the beloved Left Bank candle purveyor, casts its glow on the South.

The Diptyque boutique at Buckhead Atlanta

If home scent were an art, then surely Diptyque would be the ultimate master. The French brand’s iconic wax candles have been a mainstay on stylish mantels and coffee tables since 1961, when the original Paris boutique opened on Boulevard Saint-Germain. More than 50 years later, Diptyque continues to ignite flames across the globe—thanks to a steady stream of new products, scents and store locales. This October, the company opened its premiere Atlanta boutique at the new ultraluxe shopping development Buckhead Atlanta. “We were excited to expand our retail presence with our first boutique in the Southeast,” says Donna DiDonato, Diptyque USA’s managing director. “When we explored the local market, we felt that [Buckhead Atlanta] seemed to be the perfect fit for the brand.” In addition to all of the brand’s products from its many collections, Diptyque’s debut Southern store boasts world-class customer service features including complimentary custom gift wrap and a call service that has purchases messengered over the same day. Also this fall, the French brand unveiled the Le Redouté candle—a woodsy spiced rose perfume inspired by a handmade satchel of potpourri found tucked inside a drawer of the original store—plus a bazaar collection of objects, including pillar candles ($75), porcelain holders ($150) and soapstone diffusers ($140). And, as if that weren’t enough, Diptyque is now making a mark in the world of stationery, teaming up with Papier Tigre to create a line of notebooks, postcards and a perpetual calendar emblazoned with the company’s graphic patterns and prints ($25 to $45). “Paper is a big part of the Diptyque tradition,” says Product Creation Director Myriam Badault. “We decided to share our fabric archives with the talented Papier Tigre so [their employees] could bring them to life.” Tres chic! 3035 Peachtree Road NE, 404.846.0602
