International Delights

Two new kitchen cabinetry showrooms offer the sharpest designs from Italy, Germany, Spain and more.

Pedini

Pedini
In January, Decorative Center Houston welcomed more than 60 years of Italian kitchen and bath craftsmanship with the opening of Texas’ first Pedini showroom. Known for its signature curved cabinetry and discreet work zones, Pedini—which was founded in 1957 and has showrooms in more than 25 countries—was one of the first companies to introduce the now-ubiquitous modular kitchen system. The brand is also a leader in eco-friendly construction, using 100 percent post-consumer recycled wood certified by the Forest Stewardship Council. At the Houston showroom, check out two bathroom designs, in addition to three of Pedini’s top kitchen designs. The contemporary Dune kitchen (pictured), one of the trio on display, is particularly eye-catching, featuring a flowing asymmetrical curved base, and slick handle-free drawers and cabinets. Prices vary by project. 5120 Woodway Drive, Houston

German Kitchen Center
The only multibrand chain store for kitchens in the United States made its Dallas debut in late 2017 with a new showroom in the International on Turtle Creek Design Center. In addition to closet designs, German Kitchen Center offers five European kitchen brands, three of which are displayed in the Dallas location. Its top brand, LEICHT (pictured), hails from Germany and is known for its modern, innovative designs, while Nobilia, also from Germany, offers high quality at a lower price point. Spanish brand DOCA leads the pack in bespoke kitchen and closet design, offering 100 percent customization and a wide array of finishes. German Kitchen Center can also handle any millwork your home might need, including built-in bookcases. Prices vary by project. 150 Turtle Creek Blvd., Ste. 201B, Dallas
