Love, Atlanta Style

While temps of lesser love run cool, our top-five late-summer dates keep things hot.

You’ve done the wine and cheese thing, thanks—uh, not like this you haven’t. Hit {three} sheets on Sept. 19 for a five-course grilled-cheese dinner ($30 per person) with wine pairings—How about a crisp Washington riesling to go with that provolone, broccoli rabe and pulled pork on sourdough?—before hitting the sheets in earnest. 7pm, 6017 Sandy Springs Circle, @threesheetsatl

With no intention of chilling just yet, Summer SoundWaves at the Georgia Aquarium rocks on Friday nights through September. Soak up live music; nosh on surf and turf ($69–$75 per couple); or split a Southern picnic of chicken, corn bread, coleslaw and mini desserts ($40–$45 per couple). Dig in! 7–9pm, 225 Baker St. NW, @georgiaaquarium

Put some fun (and a little friendly competition) in your Sunday at Decatur-resto No. 246’s weekly backyard pingpong tournaments. They offer a tasty snack menu and discounted bevs (score!) for playas, so bring another couple and go two-on-two! You’ll be feeling the love-love in no time. (Just e-mail to sign up.) 4:30pm, 129 E. Ponce de Leon Ave., @no_246

Normally, “mystery” is a word used to describe your dating history—now it’s the theme of an intriguing night out. Head to Dad’s Garage any Friday between now and Oct. 26 for Murder, She Improvised. Get cozy; order a beer bucket; and crack up at this off-the-cuff comedy show ($13–$20 per person), where the audience determines whodunit. (Stars aligned, it’s not your date.) 10:30pm, 280 Elizabeth St. NE, @dads_garage

Get cookin’! This fall, The Cook’s Warehouse offers a wide range of themed new culinary classes, like Date Night in Paris (Brookhaven) and Couples Dinner Party (East Cobb), so you can slice, dice and—fingers crossed—simmer with your sweetie. 404.815.4993 for dates, 6:30–9:30pm, @cookswarehouse
