To Market, to Market

Jamestown Properties has big plans for City Hall East. And although we're going to have to wait a good two or three years before the 2.1 million-square-foot structure finishes its transformation into the future Ponce City Market, we already have a reason to be excited. In celebration of the historic icon's planned renovations and Green Street Properties' 10th anniversary, the collaborators behind this gigantic project have decided to throw a shindig: Plan to head over to Party at Ponce this weekend on Oct. 1.

Of course, a party isn't a party without food and entertainment—and you can look forward to the best of the best here. Highlights include a sampling of foods crafted by a slew of Atlanta's best culinary minds, among them Anne Quatrano of Bacchanalia (who is rumored to be opening a po-boy shop in the space), Ford Fry of JCT Kitchen and Pano Karatassos of the Buckhead Life Restaurant Group. And as if that wasn't enough to spur you to press "Buy Tickets Now" (P.S. they're $90), get this: Atlanta darlings The Indigo Girls will be making an appearance, as well as home-grown honeys Shawn Mullins and Francine Reed. Food trucks will be on hand in case the chefs don't satisfy your cravings (doubtful), but even if you're stuffed to the point of no return, make sure to grab some favorites from these carriers of all things delicious.

If you want to catch a preview of the soon-to-be Ponce City Market, tours will be given all through the night. They're first-come, first-serve, though, so make sure to get there ASAP. The throwdown starts at 7PM and is scheduled to carry on until 11PM. These festivities are taking place rain or shine, so don't let those looming clouds stop you from getting your party on.
