A killer piece of art can change the whole look and feel of a room. Switch out that canvas above the mantel with a new one, and your pad gets an entirely new personality. So how about fluffing up your personal collection for a steal? You must attend the fifth annual Atlanta Arts Festival, held Sept. 17-18 in Piedmont Park, with festivities kicking off at 10AM both days. Hundreds of artists from across the country descend on Atlanta's grandest green space each year to fill booths with their original wares—including paintings, mixed-media works, drawings, jewelry, metalworks, sculpture, photography, wood pieces, pottery, glass and so much more. Even better, this in-town event serves up scrumptious festival foods, fun giveaways and live demos by lots of creative types. And if you want to get your own hands dirty, six sessions of adult art classes, called Canvas by U, will give you the chance to create your own masterpiece—flowers, the Atlanta skyline, a landscape, what have you—for just $20, and all materials are provided. With the weather cooling off, it's the perfect time to get outdoors and enjoy our fair city! Not yet sold? Admission to the event is absolutely free.
