James Beard Foundation’s Taste America – Atlanta

We are excited to announce that the James Beard Foundation has selected Atlanta to host the first event on the Taste America tour. This two-day affair will feature an exclusive benefit reception and dinner as well as culinary demonstrations, book signings and artisan tastings at Sur La Table.

The series will begin with “A Night of Culinary Stars” taking place on Friday, September 12 at King Plow Event Gallery. The evening will begin with a tasting reception featuring a lineup of Atlanta’s finest chefs including Billy Allin, Ford Fry, Asha Gomez, Linton Hopkins and Kevin Rathbun. The tasting is followed by a four-course dinner designed and prepared by this year’s JBF Award Winner for Outstanding Restaurateur, Barbara Lynch, and James Beard Award Winner Anne Quatrano. In addition to the formal event, Fifth Group Restaurants will host a “Taste of Fifth Group” at Studio 887 to provide additional support and donations for the Foundation. This concurrent tasting will showcase the executive chefs from their renowned restaurants and Bold American catering company as well as expertly crafted cocktails from beverage director Vajra Stratigos. All proceeds from the evening will benefit the Foundation’s educational and Awards programs.
