Girl boss Erin Shearer is working hard behind the scenes to make Super Bowl LIII the best yet.
How’s this for an intern success story? “I interned [with Atlanta Sports Council] and was hired full time at the conclusion of my internship. I have been there for seven years!” says 28-year-old Erin Shearer, who quickly climbed the ladder to become the Council’s director of business development and communications, as well as director of marketing and communications for the Atlanta Super Bowl Host Committee. The stunning University of Alabama alum has dedicated all of her time and energy over the past year to making Super Bowl LIII not only a fruitful undertaking for the city, but also a well-executed one. “There are a lot of moving parts,” she admits. “Collaboration and communication are a key component.” From the Host Committee’s Legacy 53 initiative—which includes funding for a major capital improvement project, a focus on civil rights and social justice, sustainability efforts and more—to managing the volunteer program, Shearer has helped oversee it all. What is she most looking forward to about the week leading up to Feb. 3? “Seeing the city come together to put on a remarkable Super Bowl experience for locals, visiting fans, the teams and media,” she shares. “We are all working toward a common goal, which is exciting.” @erin__mariee
