Sweat-er Weather

From the spiked eggnog to Christmas cookies around every corner, ’tis the season to consume all of the calories. To combat the excessive eating and drinking, here are three of Atlanta’s latest high-energy workouts to keep you from falling off the wellness wagon.

TURN Studio

You’ll be good as gold with TURN Studio’s 45- and 60-minute classes. “We offer a variety of options including cycling, strength, yoga and hybrids like the Double Shot,” says Ashley Francis, owner of the Sandy Springs studio. “The MEZ is where you’ll find strength classes, including boot camps, dance and TRX, and our cycling studio is home to both rhythm-based and performance-focused rides.” Interested in polishing your cycling skills? Try the TURN 101 class that includes 15 minutes of instruction and a 20-minute practice ride. First class is complimentary, and drop-in rate is $26. @turn_atl

You can’t beat the heat when it comes to Buckhead’s latest cycling concept: The Sweat Shoppe (located in The Forum Athletic Club at Lenox Square). “Because of the 80-plus degree heat in the studio, you’ll burn more calories, boost your metabolism and detox all at once in our 45- and 55-minute classes,” says owner Mimi Benz. Curious? The studio offers a monthly Precision Ride for newbies that covers proper form and breaks down the science behind the heat. First ride is complimentary with promo code NEWRIDERATL, and drop-in rate is $26. @thesweatshoppe

Jab-cross your way to a killer kickboxing and strength workout in VESTA Movement’s 55-minute classes. “Not only do we offer high-intensity workouts with dope playlists and energetic instructors, VESTA is all about community,” co-owner Missy Mostrom says. “Get fit; get inspired; join the movement.” Bonus: Both the Poncey-Highland and new West Midtown locations boast unique murals for the perfect post-sweat selfie. First class is free, and annual memberships start at $109 per month. @vestamovement
