A Sweet Escape

New watering hole AMER stirs things up in Inman Park.

Hit the weekend jackpot with a Bling Machine cocktail at Inman Quarter’s new watering hole, AMER.

The team behind Westside mainstay Bocado have taken their creative talents and drink moxie to Inman Park with AMER. The superchic and intimate craft-cocktail haven at Inman Quarter is a gateway into the world of bitters and Italian Amari. French for “bitter,” AMER is anything but, casting a brilliant aura from the emblazoned yellow exterior facade to its rich, wood-draped interior. Steal away to the bar or grab a seat at the restaurant-long deep indigo banquette with marble lowboy tables to talk business or pleasure. Extending the visit? Take the party to the secluded wood-clad rear dining area for added elusiveness.

As the star of the show, the cocktail menu is divided into Shaken, Built, Sodas and Stirred categories capping out at 16 subtle sippers, plus a selection of curated beers and wines. Cocktails go from playful to passionate like the vodka-heavy Bling Machine with blackberry, ginger orgeat, vanilla, lemon and Chambord; or the enigmatic mezcalcentric Smoke & Chill with pineapple, cinnamon, banana, lime, nutmeg and angostura bitters. While the kitchen is small, the flavors are big with savory small plates and bar snacks, such as housemade chips with caramelized onion dip; beef Carpaccio with arugula and pickled red onion; and a soft-poached egg sandwich with confit pork belly, cheddar and chipotle glaze.

Paying homage to 1970s Italian film and retro Amari labels, AMER’s sultry vibe paired with thoughtful cocktails and noshworthy bites make it the perfect staging arena to begin or end a night with your besties. Cheers! @ameratl
