Tennis enthusiasts turned out on Aug. 30 for John McEnroe's sixth annual Pro-Am tournament at SPORTIME Amagansett. Both professional and up-and-coming athletes from the JMTP program matched off in rounds that were as competitive as they were fun, for players and spectators alike.

Despite the occasion’s festive nature, tournament-goers attend each year mainly in the name of a good cause. This time around, guests bid on covetable prizes in a silent auction to ultimately raise $45,000 for McEnroe's nonprofit. The charity aims to remove racial, social and economic barriers to tennis for aspiring young players.

Among the sought-after auction prizes was a mini electric car by McLaren, a facial from esteemed aesthetician Vicki Morav and many more. Sponsors for the event included Head/Penn Racquet Sports, Nike, Lalique, Bird-In-Hand Winery, Maison Atia and BNP Paribas. Between the diverting matches and the feel-good reason behind them, it wasn’t difficult for attendees to get into the swing of things.
