Whether you’re trying to stop thinking about your toxic ex, or celebrating being happily in love, these sexy and sultry cocktail recipes will sweep you off your feet (literally, if you have a really heavy hand).
Scorned Lovers
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz 818 Blanco
- 0.5 oz Mezcal
- 1.0 oz Cherry Heering
- 0.75 oz Blood Orange Juice
- 0.25 oz Agave Syrup
Directions:
- Write your ex’s name on a piece of paper and set fire with a match. Safely discard. Set the smoking matchstick on a heat-safe surface and place a chilled coupe glass upside down over the match.
- Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake vigorously until chilled
- Strain and pour into the smoked coupe. Garnish with cherries.
Bed of Roses
Ingredients:
- 2.0 oz 818 Reposado
- 1.0 oz Lemon Juice
- 0.75 oz Rose Syrup
- 1 Dash Angostura Bitters
- 1 Dash Peychaud’s Bitters
- 1 Egg White (optional)
- +Absinthe for Rinsing (optional)
- +Rose (for garnish)
Directions:
- If desired, rinse a rocks glass with absinthe
- Combine all remaining ingredients in a cocktail shaker without ice and shake vigorously
- Add ice, and shake for a second time until chilled
- Strain into a rocks glass with large ice cube
- Top with Peychaud bitters and garnish with a rose
