Beverly Hills’ brightest celebrated The Colleagues at its annual spring event.
THE PARTY Floral prints and air kisses were on full display at the 30th annual The Colleagues luncheon, where Hollywood notables and society dames gathered to raise more than $750,000 for the Children’s Institute Inc. while taking in Oscar de la Renta’s fall 2018 collection. THE GUESTS Hollywood heavyweights such as Joan Collins and philanthropist Wallis Annenberg graced the Beverly Wilshire’s ballroom, as did Kathy Hilton, who watched proudly as daughters Nicky Hilton Rothschild and Paris Hilton presented ODLR Co-Creative Directors Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia with an award to honor their contribution to American design. “All the ladies at the luncheon are old friends of Oscar’s and our clients for a long time,” says Garcia. “It’s their way of showing support for us.” Philanthropist, producer and actress Jane Seymour was also honored: former Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman co-star Joe Lando presented her with The Colleagues Champion of Children Award. THE HIGHLIGHTS A spirited auction roused the crowd, as did the runway show, which drew approving nods and cheers for some of the more ornate, embroidered gowns and separates. “I like how we are pushing the brand forward,” Garcia explains. “Silhouettes are easy to wear, but still look like Oscar.”
