Macallan Rarest Scotch Tasting
Atlanta’s whiskey fanatics made their way downtown to Red Phone Booth to taste some of the uncommon pours on offer from The Rarest Scotch Tasting by The Macallan. Twenty-five lucky guests like Kwanza Hall, Maurice Watson and Mahesh Patel enjoyed the experience that included tastes of The Macallan Rare Cask and The Macallan Reflexion. Guests entered through the eponymous red phone booth off a downtown side street and were transported back in time to the 1920s. The small group was treated to a luxuriously long tasting helmed by the brand’s first female ambassador, Raquel Raies. She’s got the goods—her Scottish grandmother first introduced her to the national drink at an early age. The speak-easy setting was the perfect backdrop for a night of delicious pours, complemented by cigars and food such as beef carpaccio. Raies is a huge fan of The Macallan Double Cask, which, she says, “if you’re new to scotch, is a good place to start. It’s fresh and vibrant and goes well with fried chicken!” –Lauren Finney
