At 75, Fairchild looks better than ever. To celebrate the public garden’s landmark anniversary, co-chairs Swanee DiMare, Frances Sevilla-Sacasa, Joyce Burns and Penny Stamps invited more than 350 guests to the annual Gala in the Garden fundraiser for an evening of dinner and dancing at the property’s Lakeside Marquee.
As is usual with any Fairchild affair, the evening attracted some of Miami’s most prominent philanthropists. Among the guests were Bobby and Brenda Castellano, Jenny and Doug Parker, Nancy and Jon Batchelor, and Terry Buoniconti.
The 75th anniversary theme was hard to miss throughout the evening—in fact, the number 75 was found, among other places, in the form of light reflections on the trees outside the party’s pavilion and towering behind the bar in the guise of an ice sculpture. After guests made their way to the reception tent set up for the occasion, board of trustees President Bruce Greer addressed the crowd and spoke about the advancements Fairchild had made in the past year. A Le Basque-catered dinner later, guests were ready and willing to hit the dance floor to the music of the Soul Survivors Band. –Photography by Allison Diaz
