For his efforts, the main is being recognized with the 2013 National Leadership Award at the 17th Annual Miami Recognition Dinner from the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force. As the oldest national organization dedicated to achieving equality for LGBT people, the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force provides a vital source of funding for the gay community. The Boys & Girls Club of Miami-Dade started out as a single building. Today it has five locations serving more than 10,000 boys and girls year round. They make a great deal of those initiatives happen thanks to proceeds from its annual Wild About Kids Gala, which benefits the organization’s after-school programs, computer training, social skills, dance, professional mentoring and summer and athletic programs.
