The outdoor ceremony included an aisle lined with tall vases overflowing with beautiful flowers, not to mention a stunning seaside view from the Dana Point resort.

The bride wore Jimmy Choo shoes, along with a diamond tennis bracelet lent by a bridesmaid who had worn it at her own wedding. A Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority pin with five blue sapphires (hidden discreetly within her gown) served as Lindsay’s “something blue."

The bride carried an ultrafeminine bouquet, by O.C.-based Square Root, made entirely of pale pink peonies.

Occupational therapist Lindsay Ruben and Microsoft sales executive Ion Gott lived only 2 miles from each other in Hermosa Beach. Their paths never crossed, however, until they met online. They hit it off immediately on their first date—tapas and a beach walk—so much so that they met up two more times that week. On a subsequent hike at L.A.’s Griffith Park, breathtaking view in tow, Ion asked Lindsay to marry him on bended knee.

The couple settled on Monarch Beach Resort for the site of their sunset ceremony. For the ballroom reception, they decided to forgo the traditional wedding cake and instead opted for dessert stations offering a variety of treats, including chocolate-dipped strawberries and ice cream sundaes. “My entire family, especially my father, absolutely lives for their ice cream, so we thought it was appropriate to include it in our wedding,” says Lindsay.

“We both really wanted our day to be [one] of celebration with our friends and family,” Lindsay says. “We lived in the moment, and were able to really take in how incredible [it was] having everyone we both care about all together in one place.”

Following a mini-moon at the nearby Montage Laguna Beach resort, the pair embarked on a three-week honeymoon to Europe a month later. They began their trip in Lake Lugano, Switzerland, moved on to Venice, Italy, and ended up in Mykonos and Santorini, Greece. Along the way, they rode ATVs, explored multiple beaches, snorkeled and even took a cooking class. After all, variety is the spice of life!
