The weather is finally warming, and it’s exciting to think things might return to “normal” as summer approaches.

It’s been a tough year, but one thing that makes the world go 'round is food - and that will never change.

This week, we welcome several new eateries and collaborations. From at-home omakase to female-led operations at Talea Beer and Coffee Project, outdoor dining at Twiggy To Go and even free Amazon Fire TV Sticks, there are lots of new dining options to explore this week. Here's what we recommend.

Talea Beer

Talea, a female and veteran-owned beer company, opened their taproom in Williamsburg on March 12. This brewery prides itself on a beer that's easy enough on the palate to share with your hard-seltzer and wine-drinking friends, but full enough to impress beer connoisseurs. Talea has curated high quality, low-bitterness flavors including raspberry, mango, guava and more.

To celebrate Women’s History Month while promoting mental health, Coffee Project New York is hosting a Plants and Pour Overs Pop-Up on March 20 and 21 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at all four locations. Partnering with Stolen Magnolia, the teams will pair a pour over coffee with a plant complementing its taste profile. Some of the pairings include the Burro’s Tail Succulent + Coffee Project’s Mexico La Joya Lot 22C, as well as the ZZ Plant + Coffee Project’s Ethiopia Jigesa, Natural Process. A percentage of the proceeds will go to the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

Haven Lounge at the Sanctuary Hotel

The Haven Lounge at the Sanctuary Hotel will officially open March 18 with cocktails like the yellowjacket with gin and yellow chartreuse, as well as wines and beers. Delicious bites are also available, from guacamole to cheese and meat boards, pita-hummus plates and shrimp cocktail. The place is decked out with televisions and couches for lounging, a billiards table and guest DJs on the weekends. This spot will give a great night out. Reservations can be made on their website.

Tomokase

Tomokase is a new, in-home, full service omakase experience from the team behind NYC’s beloved tsukemen restaurant, TabeTomo. Founded as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Tomokase offers three menus to be cooked in your home by a chef from their team right in front of you. Some offerings include Botan Shrimp with Uni, Seasoned Stripe Jack and Soy Marinated Jackfish with Sour Plum. Bookings are available on their website.

At the end of February, a new grab-n-go concept emerged in Tribeca. Twiggy To Go features a rotating selection of seasonal specialties from salads to soups, sandwiches and even an assortment of meat, fish and vegetable entrees. Specialties include an herb-roasted chicken, quiche, and jumbo lump crab cakes. This spring, Twiggy To Go will add outdoor seating and full-service dining.
