Hundreds of O.C.’s movers and shakers filled the Disneyland Hotel’s ballroom to raise $2.7 million at the CHOC Children’s Gala.
THE PARTY Disneyland has long been known as “The Happiest Place on Earth,” and the moniker certainly applied to its namesake hotel the night it hosted the CHOC Children’s Gala. And what a magical night it was—lively auctions, a sumptuous dinner and entertainment by OneRepublic. THE GUESTS Event chair Heather Madden (she and husband Jim also ranked among the sponsors for the eve) looked as lovely as a Disney princess in her black Oscar de la Renta gown. Afterparty hosts (and O.C. power couple) Lili and Paul Daftarian mixed and mingled with fellow guests, including Teemu Selanne. THE HIGHLIGHTS The Cherese Mari Laulhere Foundation was honored with the Children’s Champion Award, and Harry Winston, a longtime sponsor and benefactor of numerous CHOC programs, was presented with the first Chair Award. And before OneRepublic took the stage, word came that $2.7 million had been raised. Magical, indeed. -Tina Borgatta
