Little ladies and their grown-up counterparts took to the catwalk to round up nearly $75,000 at the National Charity League Juniors Mother-Daughter Luncheon.
THE PARTY A doughnut wall, flower crowns and a mini Airstream trailer flowing with Champagne transformed the Fashion Island Hotel into a wonderland of fun at this year’s National Charity League Juniors Mother-Daughter Luncheon. The theme—California Dreamin’—was apropos, as wondrous wishes came true for the benefiting organizations, which aid pediatric cancer patients and those with head injuries. THE SCENE NCL Juniors president Kristin Sheward, along with co-chairs Angie Card, Shannon Patterson and Kristin Perlmutter, greeted the crowd of middle school girls and their mothers as they nibbled on chicken fingers and Chinese chicken salad, respectively. THE HIGHLIGHTS A selection of sixth-grade daughters—Piper Blackband, Kirsten Dauderman, Gabriella Eifrig, Sophia Gazzaniga, Lindsay Neal and Peyton Vovan—walked hand in hand with their mothers down the runway as a voiceover from each girl shared what NCL meant to them. And Bloomingdale’s Fashion Island presented this season’s trends surrounded by their most enthusiastic audience yet—gaggles of little ones cheering them on stageside.
