The Shea Night Fever Gala at Montage Laguna Beach roped in $790,000 for the J.F. Shea Therapeutic Riding Center.
THE PARTY Disco music and retro sips transformed the Montage Laguna Beach into a boogie wonderland for the 27th annual Shea Night Fever Gala. Known for its whimsical themes, the fete supports The Shea Center’s longtime dedication to improving the lives of people with disabilities through horse-related therapy. THE SCENE Nearly 400 guests were welcomed by gala co-chairs Allyson Constantino and Pam Moellenhoff with “Stayin’ Alive” cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres on the resort’s Pacific Lawn. A Saturday Night Fever-themed dance floor complete with professional dancers and roller skaters kicked the party into high gear. THE HIGHLIGHTS In the Montage’s Grand Ballroom, guests enjoyed a feast of tenderloin Oscar and banana hazelnut crunch cake while weekly Shea Center rider Michael Lewis shared the impact the organization has had on his life with cerebral palsy. A week in Paris and other luxurious auction offerings sent paddles waving as The Shea Center rode off into the sunset with a grand total of $790,000. -Riley Greenough
