Who says scent has to be the most exciting part of the candle-buying experience? NYC-based Otherland brings candle shopping to new heights with their experiential “otherland,” inspired by the 1980s art deco revival period.

After successfully launching as a direct-to-consumer and digitally native brand in 2017, Otherland has finally bowed a brick-and-mortar in the heart of Soho. Columbia Business School grads Abigail Cook Stone and Sayyid Markar launched the design-forward brand out of their kitchen after meticulously formulating the perfect fragrances, waxes and clean ingredients.
The new store, located at 454 W. Broadway, was designed by interior designer Sasha Bikoff to truly reflect the brand’s aesthetic, ethos and artwork. The store carries all of Otherland’s incredible fragrances, such as the core collection of rattan, canopy, chandelier, daybed and kindling, in addition to seasonal offerings, such as the spring awakening and garden party collections.
