Sharon Bush hosted a beautiful spring soiree for Cristo Rey Brooklyn High School.
THE PARTY Flowers—and fundraisers—were in full bloom at the home of James and Lisa Cohen, where $100,000 was raised to continue promoting Cristo Rey Brooklyn High School’s mission of educating young people of limited economic means to become men and women of faith, purpose and service. The function, hosted by PB’s own Sharon Bush, also honored philanthropist Ruby Rinker. THE GUESTS Joan O’Connor, Kelsey and Jason Emmett, Geri Emmett, and Ava Roosevelt enjoyed the beach-chic items from the likes of Lilly Pulitzer and more in both the silent and live auctions hosted by prominent auctioneer Stuart Whitehurst, while Jean Shafiroff, Paola Rosenshein, Tom Shaffer and Christine Schott Ledes danced under the stars to the smooth tunes of Alex Donner Entertainment as the sun started set. THE HIGHLIGHTS “Cristo Rey Brooklyn changes students’ lives by giving them a full high school education and then helping every student go on to college—with a full scholarship. Thanks to the generous hospitality of James and Lisa Cohen, every dollar raised went toward funding the school,” said Bush.
