One of New York City’s famed French brasseries is headed to Nashville. Opening Thursday, June 26, at 512 Houston St., Pastis will bring timeless French charm, classic Parisian fare and a thoughtfully curated bar program to the Wedgewood-Houston dining scene.

Backed by renowned hospitality group Starr Restaurants, Pastis first made its mark in 1999 when legendary restaurateur Keith McNally debuted the original in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District. Since partnering with Stephen Starr, the celebrated concept has expanded beyond New York to Miami, Washington D.C., and now, for the first time, to Nashville.

“We are moved by the warm welcome we’ve received from neighbors and the community so far,” says general manager Tyler St. Denis. “At Pastis Nashville, we’re building more than a place to dine. Our brasserie is where we hope you’ll celebrate every occasion. Whether you’re gathered around a celebratory table with friends and family or savoring an impromptu cocktail at our bar, we look forward to welcoming you to our charming escape on Houston Street.”

Upon opening, Pastis Nashville will offer dinner service seven nights a week, with lunch and brunch to follow soon. The kitchen is helmed by executive chef Mark Coleman, whose 15 years of experience span acclaimed Italian osterias, Michelin-starred Tuscan kitchens and top New York City establishments such as Marea, Rezdora Osteria Emiliana and Forsythia Restaurant. Coleman joined Starr Restaurants in 2024.

“It’s no secret that Pastis has a rich history and distinguished reputation in the culinary world,” Coleman says. “With my background in European and New York City dining, Pastis is the perfect blend of both places, transporting you somewhere new from the moment you walk in. The classic menu offers something for everyone, and I look forward to sharing that with our guests.”

The menu opens with traditional hors d’oeuvres, including escargots, tuna carpaccio and onion soup, as well as a selection of salads and sandwiches like salade niçoise, croque madame and Cheeseburger à ľAméricaine—Pastis’ fresh take on the classic smash burger with American cheese, pickles, sliced red onion and Pastis’s signature burger sauce on a housemade bun.

Main course offerings include staples such as trout amandine, spaghetti bolognese, duck confit and chicken paillard, alongside shareable sides like pommes purée and haricot verts. An ever-changing plat du jour will highlight rotating chef-driven specialties like Dover sole meunière, pork Milanese and chicken Kiev.

The menu is paired with a carefully curated bar program featuring signature cocktails and a robust selection of wines by the glass and bottle. The space evokes the spirit of the original Pastis location in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District, with a mosaic-tiled floor and a classic curved zinc bar with subway tiles, vintage mirrors and handwritten daily specials. Spanning approximately 8,400 square feet, the restaurant seats 170 in the main dining room, 18 at the bar and will offer outdoor patio seating later this year. Reservations are now available here.
