Ceremony & Reception: Terrain Gardens at Devon Yard
Alex Gort and Jake Chamberlain’s love story started off slowly. They met on a dating site in May of 2019, but didn’t properly connect until September, when a three-hour FaceTime call led to a coffee date. After that, everything fell into place quickly and—on the one-year anniversary of their first date—they were married in front of 32 of their closest friends and family at Terrain Gardens at Devon Yard.
Eucalyptus, a favorite of the bride, was included in the bouquet.
They pulled the event off in just two weeks, thanks to the expert help of their best friend Dayna Leaventon, the senior catering sales manager for the Ritz-Carlton Philadelphia.
Terrain was the perfect venue for the 32 guests.
The magical garden party, capped off with an all-night afterparty in the Leaventon’s backyard, was a celebration of love and the couple’s growing family: They are expecting a baby boy in December. “I can’t wait to show our son the photos from our big day,” Alex says. “And I love that he got to be a part of it!"
