IN ATLANTA’S HISTORIC INMAN PARK NEIGHBORHOOD, A 1910 QUEEN ANNE VICTORIAN IS REIMAGINED.
What was once a grand 1910 Queen Anne Victorian home, later divided into separate units in the 1970s, has been meticulously restored to its former glory by the talented team at Musso Design Group. This ambitious project seamlessly blends the home’s rich history with modern comfort and functionality.

THE PRIORITY
“The main priority for this project was to create a space that felt personalized, functional, and timeless,” says Todd Falconbury, interior designer at Musso Design Group. “The client desired a blend of modern design with classic elements that would evolve effortlessly with their lifestyle, striking a perfect balance between aesthetics and practicality to meet their daily needs.”

THE CHALLENGE
Musso Design Group was tasked with restoring this beautiful 1910 home to its original glory—as close as possible—after it was divided into separate units in the 1970s. The main floor was a single residence, while the upstairs housed two separate units. “We took the home down to the studs, removing the ’70s changes, and focused on restoring its historic charm while working within the original architectural limits,” says Nick George, interior designer at Musso Design Group. “Our goal was to create a space that felt warm, inviting, and cohesive, blending modern comfort with the timeless beauty of its early 20th-century design.”
THE STRATEGY
“Our strategy focused on preserving the home’s character and given its massive size by layering textures, balancing scale, and choosing a neutral palette with bold accents to add depth and warmth and keeping in character with Inman Park,” George explains. The team collaborated closely with the client to select unique pieces that told a story and honored the home’s history while reflecting their personal taste.

THE DESIGN
Details truly defined this project. From the original leaded glass windows and solid walnut doors to the hand-finished cabinetry and custom furniture, every element was thoughtfully chosen. The design team incorporated subtle yet impactful design features like bespoke lighting, bold textiles, and carefully crafted custom tiles, as showcased around the fireplaces in the living room, primary bathroom floor, and powder bathroom floor. “These details helped us create a cohesive design that feels luxurious yet livable, which is what the client was asking for,” says Falconbury.
One of the most striking features of the renovation is the brand-new staircase with ornate scrolling, a subtle nod to the Queen Anne Victorian style that leads to the second floor. The main hallway boasts coffered ceilings leading to the breakfast room, adding architectural interest and depth.

The outdoor space is equally impressive, featuring a bright, airy screened-in porch with luxurious Brazilian hardwood Ipe flooring, adding richness and durability. Cozy seating and playful accents like a pink bar cart create a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere, perfect for entertaining or unwinding in style.
THE OUTCOME
“The transformation exceeded all expectations, restoring some of the home’s original charm while delivering a space that feels both modern and timeless,” says Falconbury. “The home now beautifully reflects the client’s personality and lifestyle, seamlessly blending historic character with contemporary comfort. Every corner tells a story, from restored architectural details to thoughtfully curated furnishings. The result is a space that feels warm, elegant, and full of life. Most importantly, the client feels truly at home, which is the ultimate success and a testament to the power of thoughtful design.”

The home was also pet-approved, as we were told the client’s dog curled up on one of the custom-made rugs before it was fully unrolled, a heartwarming testament to the home’s immediate comfort and livability.
